Spring Cleaning Checklist

 

I can’t wait for spring, not only for the snow to melt, the hot weather and the flowers to come out, but to reorganize and clean my house from top to bottom. I just love Spring Cleaning!  Opening the windows and letting some fresh air in, getting rid of things I don’t use and clean and refresh every room in my house.

It feels so good when the house is nice, clean and functional.

Since I have a list for everything, I do have a very detailed spring cleaning checklist that I’ve updated into a printable checklist so it’s easy for you to print and use.  
BEDROOMS
Empty drawers, wash inside,  organise clothes.  Remove and donate what you don’t wear anymore.
Empty closet, wash walls, ceiling, shelves, baseboards, trim, floor, organise clothes.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum wooden blinds.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Wash curtains, duvet & cover, pillows, cushions.
Spray mattress with lavender water and vacuum.
Wash mirrors, dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
OFFICE
Empty drawers, wash inside and organise items.
Remove everything from shelves and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates, door and shelves.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum wooden blinds.
Wash curtains.
Clean window, window sill and screen.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Dust frames, decoration and put back on walls and furniture.
Dust and organise office supplies on shelves.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
BATHROOM
Empty, wash and organise linen closet.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum wooden blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean vanity, cabinets and furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Clean bath, toilet and shower.
Wash bathroom ceiling fan.
Clean mirrors, dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
KITCHEN
Empty, wash and reorganise pantry.
Empty, wash (inside and out) and reorganise cabinets.  Wash dishes if necessary.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings, furniture and counter.
Wash walls, ceilings, counter, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Clean range hood and filters.
Clean stove (oven, top and sides) and vacuum under.
Clean fridge and freezer (inside and outside) and vacuum under.
Clean dishwasher (inside, outside).
Clean microwave.
Clean toaster.
Clean coffee machines (run cycle with water and vinegar) then run 3 cycles with just water.
Wash sink and faucet.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
DINING ROOM
Empty hutch and other furniture.  Wash inside replace items (wash wine glasses if needed).
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum wooden blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
LIVING ROOM
Empty entertaining unit and other furniture.  Clean inside, organise and place items back.
Empty ashes from fireplace. Vacuum inside and outside stones and mantel.  Clean window.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Wash sofas and cushions.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum wooden blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
ENTRYWAY
Empty bench, wash inside, organise items.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Clean mirror, dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash vents.
Vacuum and wash floor.
STAIRWELLS
Remove everything from walls.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates, handrail and doors.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Dust frames and decorations and put back on walls.
Vacuum and wash stairs.
BASEMENT / PLAYROOM / LAUNDRY ROOM
Empty closets, cleans inside, organise and place items back.
Empty entertaining unit and other furniture.  Clean inside, organise and place items back.
Clean toys and wash stuffed animals in washing machine.
Remove everything from walls, ceilings and furniture.
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, trims, switch plates and doors.
Wash sofas and cushions.
Vacuum and clean ceiling light.
Vacuum blinds and wash curtains.
Clean windows, window sills and screens.
Clean furniture with water and Murphy’s oil.
Dust frames and decorations and put back on walls and furniture.
Vacuum and wash floor.
Organise and vacuum work shop.
Clean washer and dryer.
Clean sink beside washer and dryer.
OTHER
Change batteries in smoke detectors.
Polish silverware
Reseal grout lines
Touch-ups of paint on walls.

    I know how you feel. It’s seems like a lot but once you start it feels so good that you just want to do more and more. I do have recipes for natural cleaners that I will be posting shortly.       I know what you mean! I took a week off work last year to do my spring cleaning, but this year I spend all my vacations with my kids. I don’t know when I’ll find the time to work, blog and do my spring cleaning, but with this list, you can do it a little bit a a time and just check it off the list as your go 🙂
