Pecan Pie

pecan-pie

Pecan Pie is one of my favourite dessert. It’s so good, and really easy to make.

Ingredients

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
150 grams of chopped pecans
4 eggs
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/3 cup of melted butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup of maple syrup

1- Preheat oven to 350 F

2- Spread the pecans in unbaked pie shell.

3- In a bowl, mix together the eggs, brown sugar, salt, melted butter (make sure it’s not to warm), corn syrup and maple syrup. Poor over pecans in pie shell.

4- Cook in oven for about 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in middle comes out clean. (I put aluminium paper around the edge of the crust but that’s optional).

Let cool for about 2 hours.

This looks amazing, and totally classic. Pecan pie is a childhood memory for me. I should make my own and pass the memory on to my little girl.

[…] Every time I try a new recipe, I need to change or modify something to make it better (to my taste), but this one is perfect as is. It’s delicious, sweet but not to sweet and has a really creamy texture. Another great thing about it, is that you can freeze it. So if you’re looking for the perfect pie to serve during the Holidays, this is one of them. I also suggest my delicious Pecan Pie. […]
