Canvas Pictures DIY

Do It All Working Mom - DIY Canvas Pictures

I’ve been wanting to order canvas pictures to hang over my bed for the longest time. I went on a website (that I won’t name), uploaded my pictures, entered the size I wanted with all the information, pressed enter to confirm my choices, but then, I saw the price $$$$. OMG!!! There’s now way I’m spending that much money. The total price was over $100.00. Just to much for me.

So I did a bit of research on Pinterest and I found this amazing DIY Canvas Picture tutorial. I pinned it, but when I was ready to make it a few months after, the link wasn’t working. So I tried to reproduce it, and guess what? It worked. So here is how you can do it to:

I used:

3 canvas 12″x16″ I paid 2$ each at the dollar store (you can get the size you want).
3 pictures 12″x16″ (get same size as your canvas or cut them to fit) 25$ at Jean-Coutu for all 3.
Mod Podge (matte finish)
Black acrylic paint
1 big paint brush or foam brush
1 small paint brush

Step 1: Paint contour of canvas black. Let dry.

Step 2: Apply a layer of Mod Podge over entire canvas surface.

Step 3: Place picture on top of the Mod Podge and press down to make sure the picture sticks well to the canvas surface.

Step 4: Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the entire picture surface. Let dry.

Enjoy nice canvas pictures for a fraction of the price. I will make more for sure, for the family room and stairwell.

You have to try to make these. It’s so easy and looks amazing.
