Croque-Monsieur Recipe

Do It All Working Mom - Croque-Monsieur

Croque-Monsieur is a delicious snack, appetizer, lunch or even dinner if served with a nice salad. This is my way, well my mom’s way of making mouth watering Croque-Monsieur.

This is such a simple recipe, it takes minutes to make. My kids love Croque-Monsieur, so it’s my go to lunch when I’m busy working outside during the weekend. It’s also my go to dish when entertaining, if you cut them in half, they make the perfect appetizers.

Ingredients

Slices of country loaf bread about 1″ thick
Extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of real bacon crumbles (per slice of bread)
1 tablespoon of grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese (per slice of bread)
Sliced green olives to taste (optional)

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil.
Place the slices of bread on the baking sheet.
Brush each slice of bread with extra virgin olive oil.
Place the baking sheet in the oven at broil for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove baking sheet from the oven.
Cover each slices of bread with cheese, bacon and olives.
Cook at 400 F until cheese is melted and starts to bubble.
