Every year my kids and I decorate the house for Easter, but what we enjoy the most, is to decorate Easter eggs. It can be a little bit messy, but it’s so much fun. Those are the things kids remember when they grow up.
There are many different ways to decorate Easter eggs, but I chose 6 easy and fun ways, that kids can also enjoy.
To make these Easter eggs, you can either use hard boiled eggs, or eggs that you have previously emptied like the ones below.
1- Marbled Easter Eggs
We made those last year, see the complete post and how to make them HERE.
2- Sharpie Pen Easter Eggs
My sister made those by dyeing them first, letting them dry, and drawing nice shapes and motives on them with coloured Sharpie pens. Continue reading to see how to dye Easter eggs.
3- Painted Easter Eggs
You will need:
Acrylic Paint
Paint brush
My kids did the painting, so I can’t take the credit for that.
They’re so talented!
4- Dyed Easter Eggs
You will need:
1 cup of hot water
1 tablespoon of vinegar
15 drops of food colouring
Mix all the ingredients together, and Dip your egg for about 45 seconds making sure the egg is completely submerged in the coloured water. Let dry completely.
We added sparkle adhesive strips to some of them.
5- Paper Napkin Easter Eggs
You will need:
Paper napkin
Mod Podge
Paint brush
Separate your paper napkin only keeping the printed part.
Cut a square big enough to cover the egg.
Place the napkin on the egg, and with the Mod Podge, smooth the napkin from the center out. Cut the extra napkin at both ends of the egg (I was a bit lazy and didn’t cut it, and the result is not as nice).
6- Sparkling Easter Eggs
You will need:
Coloured glitter
Mod Podge
Paint brush
If you’re using an empty egg, you can insert a wood skewer in the bottom hole, then apply mod Podge all over the egg, and sprinkle the glitter all over the egg. Do that over a plastic container or plate. If you’re using a hard boiled egg, apply Mod Podge all over the egg place some glitter in a small plastic container, then place your egg in the container and sprinkle more glitter all over the egg. You can also do this with plastic eggs from the dollar store. Tried it, and it works really well.
I hope you liked my 6 easy ways of decorating Easter eggs. The only thing left for you to do, is go shopping for decorating supplies, and get to work! Well, its not really work since it’s so much fun!
