Easy Sausage Penne alla Vodka

This Easy Sausage Penne alla Vodka recipe is a family favorite. This recipe makes enough for dinner and left overs to pack for lunches. My kids love these Sausage Penne alla Vodka in their lunch. It’s a great change to sandwiches, and is delicious and comforting. It’s also a perfect recipe when entertaining. You friends and family with love it! Make this delicious Easy Cheesy Pull Apart Garlic Bread with it, and you have an amazing dinner.

Penne Alla Vodka

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of butter
3 Italian sausages mild or spicy (we love spicy)
1 medium onion finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic minced
1 can of crushed tomatoes 28 oz.
1/2 cup of vodka
1/2 cup of 35% cooking cream
1 tablespoon of Italian seasonings
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 box of penne pasta 375 g. cooked
Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano for garnish

Penne Alla Vodka

Instructions

Cut the sausages lengthwise cutting only the skin.
Remove the sausage meat from the skin. Discard the skin.
In a large sauce pan, melt the butter at medium heat.
Add the onion and garlic, and cook for about 2 minutes.
Add the sausage meat and break apart with a wooden spoon or fork.
Heat for about 5 minutes or until sausage is fully cooked.

Penne Alla Vodka
Add the crushed tomatoes, vodka, Italian seasonings, salt and freshly ground pepper and bring to a simmer.
Simmer for 5 minutes and add the cream.
Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and stir.
Serve topped with fresh grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.
