This Easy Sausage Penne alla Vodka recipe is a family favorite. This recipe makes enough for dinner and left overs to pack for lunches. My kids love these Sausage Penne alla Vodka in their lunch. It’s a great change to sandwiches, and is delicious and comforting. It’s also a perfect recipe when entertaining. You friends and family with love it! 1 tablespoon of butter
3 Italian sausages mild or spicy (we love spicy)
1 medium onion finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic minced
1 can of crushed tomatoes 28 oz.
1/2 cup of vodka
1/2 cup of 35% cooking cream
1 tablespoon of Italian seasonings
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 box of penne pasta 375 g. cooked
Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano for garnish
Cut the sausages lengthwise cutting only the skin.
Remove the sausage meat from the skin. Discard the skin.
In a large sauce pan, melt the butter at medium heat.
Add the onion and garlic, and cook for about 2 minutes.
Add the sausage meat and break apart with a wooden spoon or fork.
Heat for about 5 minutes or until sausage is fully cooked.
Add the crushed tomatoes, vodka, Italian seasonings, salt and freshly ground pepper and bring to a simmer.
Simmer for 5 minutes and add the cream.
Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and stir.
Serve topped with fresh grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.
