Easy Garlic Butter Pan-Seared Scallops

Do It All Working Mom - Pan Seared Scallops

I don’t know about you, but I just love seafood. I could eat seafood at least three times a week. My favourite seafood is lobster, but scallops are a close second. My Garlic Butter Pan-Seared Scallops recipe is quite simple, but really tasty and delicious.

Before we get to the recipe, I have to share a little something with you. When I was preparing this recipe, my son asked me if I knew what a live scallop looked like. I had no idea. I was pretty sure it came from a shell, but I had never seen a live scallop before. So I did a bit of research, and here it is:

Now here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

1 pound of large fresh or frozen scallops unthawed (size U10)
3 tablespoon of store bough garlic butter
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

Dry the scallops with a paper towel.
Add the garlic butter to a non stick pan, and heat the butter at medium high heat.
When the butter is hot, add the scallops to the pan.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cook for 3 minutes per side at medium high heat.

Suggestion:
Serve with white rice and melted garlic butter for dipping.
