My family loves Cinnamon Rolls. They make the perfect quick breakfast, they’re perfect as a dessert in your kids’ lunches, and they also make the perfect after school snack. This recipe makes 21 rolls, so you’ll have enough to please your family for a week.
Ingredients
Dough
6 cups of all purpose flour
2 tablespoons of instant yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup of melted butter
2 cups of warm milk
2 eggs, whisked
Filling
1/2 cup of melted butter
1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
Glaze
2 cups of icing sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/4 cup of milk
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
Pour in butter, milk and eggs (make sure the butter and water are warm not hot).
Stir until it comes together in a ball (you can use your hands).
Flour a flat surface, and knead the dough for 5 minutes, adding more flour when needed to prevent it from sticking.
Form a ball with the dough.
Add flour to the large bowl you previously used to stir the ingredients for the dough.
Place the ball of dough in the bowl, and cover with a damp cloth.
Place the bowl in a warm place and let the dough rise for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, flour a flat surface and roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
Brush the dough with the melted butter (keep a little bit less then 1/4 cup of the butter).
Sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll-up the dough lengthwise.
Cut off the ends and cut evenly into 21 pieces.
Place 12 rolls in a 13×9 mould (previously sprayed with non-stick cooking spray).
Place 9 rolls in a 8×8 mould (previously sprayed with non-stick cooking spray).
Brush the rolls with the leftover melted butter.
Let rise in a warm place uncovered for 60 minutes.
Cook in a 350 F preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool down for about 5 minutes and top with the glaze.
While the rolls are cooking, mix all the ingredients for the glaze with a hand mixer and spoon over hot Cinnamon Rolls.
