Apple Crisp Recipe

When autumn comes, I’m all about comfort food and easy cooking. This Apple Crisp Recipe is one of my favorite dessert to prepare with the kids after going apple picking. It’s so easy to prepare, the kids could do it on their own. I just like to cook with them.

Apple crisp recipe

Ingredients

5 cups of apples washed, pealed, cored and cut in large pieces
1 cup of flour
1 cup of oatmeal
1 cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/2 cup of butter (hard butter from the refrigerator)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Spray a cooking dish with non-stick cooking spray
Add the apples to the dish.
In a medium bowl, stir the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add the hard butter by cutting it in small pieces.
Mix with your hands breaking the butter in small pieces until it makes small clumps.
Add the mixture on top of the apples.
Cook for 30 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
