Deco DIY

Christmas Lanterns

I hope you’re as excited as I am about the Holidays! I love Christmas so much I think I could post about it all year long. Lots of great ideas in that little head of mine.

Today I am sharing with you an easy way to reuse your summer patio lanterns by decorating them for Christmas.

To make this project you don’t need a lot of supplies and most of them come from the dollar store, even the lanterns. So this project is fun, easy, cheap and is perfect to decorate your home for the Holidays.

Christmas lantern

You will need:
Lanterns
Branches of faux Christmas greenery with pine cones and red berries
Little Christmas ornaments and embellishments
Red and gold ribbon
Hot glue gun and glue

Christmas Lantern

The only thing left for you to do is use your imagination to decorate your lanterns (if you add decorative ornaments to the inside of your lanterns, make sure it will not get in contact with the flame when the candle is lit). You can look at my pictures for inspiration.

Those Christmas lanterns are perfect on a mantle, tabletop or window sill. You can remove the embellishments after Christmas and use your lanterns outside next spring/summer.

Hope you like them!

So, so cute! We have lanterns that are thigh high and knee high – pottery barn lanterns – that I empty the candle and stones during the holidays and stuff them full of different sized, bright, round ornaments. It’s so cute. Love your ideas here!
